Biography
Matthew Perry, a revered actor, comedian, and producer, tragically passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54, due to an apparent drowning incident at a residence in the Los Angeles area. Born on August 19, 1969, in Williamstown, Massachusetts, Perry was the son of Suzanne Marie (Langford), a Canadian journalist, and John Bennett Perry, an American actor. His lineage includes English, Irish, German, Swiss-German, and French-Canadian ancestry, and he spent his early years in Ottawa, Ontario, where he emerged as a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada.
Perry's acting prowess propelled him to international stardom, particularly for his iconic role as Chandler Bing in the highly-acclaimed sitcom "Friends" (1994-2004). Over the span of his career, Perry amassed a diversified portfolio, gracing films, TV shows, and even video games with his talent. Besides "Friends", Perry was recognized for his performances in other endeavors, earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, underscoring his enduring legacy in the entertainment sphere.

1 year agoi just wanna say i didn’t know matthew perry personally of course but he was one of my comfort tv show characters, he helped out so many people especially when they were struggling and he was such a strong, amazing and wonderful man. i’m going to miss him so much as will so many other people, i send my upmost love to his family and friends and i hope they’re all doing okay. every time i watched friends “chandler” had never failed to make me laugh and was also such an amazing actor, fly high angel you are missed and loved

1 year agoFriends is my comfort show, I watch it every night to help relieve anxiety and stress and wind down so I can sleep. Chandler Bing was my favorite out of the guys, my condolences go out to all the cast of Friends and to his family. In my heart you’ll always be Chandler Bing, rest in peace Matthew!

1 year agoI used to work as a TA (treatment asst) in a rehab place for over a year and it was tough to see. What these people go through to get clean and sober. You were plenty strong Matthew and now I hope that your memories will live on and continue to help those that have these same addictions. You will be terribly missed! We love you!!! 1 year agoMy heart is broken for the family and friends of this struggling soul and praying he is at peace and that he's continuing making others who have passed before him in the great beyond. I have been crying since I heard the news as it is a heartbreaking tragedy but at the same time knowing he is no longer dealing with his inner demons as well. RIP Matthew, I hope you are finally at peace and know how many hearts you touched while you were here. Rest easy.

1 year agoI am so sorry to hear this news. Matthew was a special person that warmed all of our hearts just by being himself. Playing Chandler brought this funny guy right to our homes every week.
